Boxercise

Boxercise

A typical boxercise class is instructor-led and combines various exercises into a circuit format. It generally includes:

Warm-up Sessions usually begin with a thorough warm-up, often incorporating activities like skipping (jump rope) and dynamic stretching to get the heart rate up and muscles ready for action.

Shadow Boxing Participants practice fundamental boxing moves, such as jabs, crosses, hooks, and uppercuts, without a partner or equipment to focus on form, speed, and footwork.

Pad Work This is a core component where participants often work in pairs or with an instructor, with one person wearing focus pads while the other throws combinations of punches. This helps improve timing, coordination, and power.

Circuit and Conditioning The class includes a variety of cardio and resistance exercises aimed at building stamina and strength. These can involve squats, push-ups, lunges, burpees, shuttle runs, and core work.

Cool-down The session concludes with a cool-down period that includes stretching to help muscles recover and prevent injury.
