Film Night @ The Hilt - Ocean

Join us for a celebration of Sir David Attenboroough's 100th Birthday (May 8th 2026). A true national treasure who has touched all out lives over his incredible career presents an inspiring documentary that shows just how incredibly resilient our plant is!

David Attenborough explores the planet's undersea habitats, revealing the greatest age of ocean discovery and emphasizing the ocean's vital importance while exposing its problems and highlighting opportunities for marine life recovery.

A visual marvel like all his work, governed by his own matchless authority and striking a steady tonal balance between warning and hope, David Attenborough’s new film about the oceans is absorbing and compelling.” The Guardian

So while this is environmental film-making at its most powerful — at times, it comes at you like a sledgehammer blow — crucially, it finds cause for optimism. Warmth again prevails. And by then the film has done its job: a warning against complacency.” The Times

Endlessly compelling and captivating, . . unfolding over little more than 90 minutes, it’s by turns awe-inspiring, informative, deeply angering and cautiously hopeful.” Radio Times

We are not selling tickets online for this event due to a significant increase in the fees levied by the providers and while film nights at The Hilt are supported by low numbers we are trying to minimise our losses.

Bring your own refreshments, Ices on sale in the short interval.

Movies @ The Hilt is a relaxed comunity cinema where we show a recent movie and we try to give the audience the chance to select the upcoming titles. We don't operate a bar, but feel free to bring your own refreshments. We stop the film at some point for a short interval to give people the chance to have a few minutes natter and stretch their legs. We usually have ice creams on sale in the interval.
