HILTINGBURY’S POLISH Heritage
Following the Second World War, where Poland was devastated, its peoples dispersed and many subjected to slave labour and concentration camps, the UK provided refuge and support.
The Polish Dependants’ Hostel on what is now Hiltingbury Recreation Ground was one such facility and came into being in1946. A film produced by Eastleigh Borough Council and a short talk documents the past events of which many residents may be unaware.
